March

Sham ‘Rock’ the Block, March 17, 18 & 19 — This street party is hosted by Duffy’s Tavern on Lower Amherst Street. It features live Celtic music, step dancers, games, pony rides, a St. Patrick’s Day parade and platters of corned beef and cabbage.

May/June

Lake George Elvis Fest, May 31 to June 4

Shake the Lake For Vets Sake, June 16 & 17 — Live music, Battle of the Bands, silent auction of local prizes and a motorcycle rally is hosted by King Neptune’s Pub on Kurasaka Street. The event is a benefit for the Adirondack Vets House in Glens Falls.

Adirondack Wine & Food Festival, June 24 & 25 — Sample locally produced wines, craft beers, ciders and spirits; taste artisan cheeses and other foods. More than 80 vendors are participating in this festival held at the Charles R. Wood Festival Commons. Ticket holders receive a souvenir wine glass at the entrance, which they may use to try before they buy.

Summer Fest, June 23, 24 & 25 — Hosted by the Lake George Volunteer Fire Company, this festival fills Shepard Park with craft and food vendors. There are bounce houses for the kids and games of chance for the adults.

July

Lake George International Film Festival, July 10 & 11 — More than 200 short and feature films from 15 different countries will be screened outdoors at the Charles R. Wood Festival Commons on a giant inflatable screen.  There will be live music played before each screening. Food and beverage vendors will be on site. 2017 is the inaugural year for this festival.

Lake George Community Band Festival, July 14 & 15 — Community Bands from across the Northeast and Canada will perform at the Shepard Park Amphitheatre. 2017 is the 13th year for this festival, which is the largest of its kind in the Northeast.

August

Queen of American Lakes S.A.V.E. Fest, Aug. 4, 5 & 6 — A festival of live music in Shepard Park to benefit The S.A.V.E. Lake George Partnership.  The Partnership works to prevent the introduction of invasive species into the lake.

Lake George Music Festival, Aug. 11 to 24 — Musicians from around the world gather in Lake George to perform in small ensembles and with the full orchestra. The public is invited to attend rehearsals and performances at venues throughout Lake George.

Firemen’s Family Festival, August 18, 19 & 20 — Arts and crafts, food trucks, bounce houses and games of chance fill Shepard Park for the Lake George Volunteer Fire Company’s annual Family Festival.

Rock the Dock Festival, Aug. 25 — The Lake George Steamboat Company is celebrating 200 years of cruising up and down the Lake. This festival is part of their year-long festivities. The party takes place on the Steel Pier on Beach Road. Several bands will perform. There will be food trucks and craft beer. Admission is free.

September

Adirondack Independence Music Festival, Sept. 2 & 3 — 2017 is this festival’s third year. Known for bringing in top bands and putting on a spectacular light show, the festival is held at the Charles R. Wood Festival Commons. 

Jazz at the Lake, Sept. 16 & 17 — Lake George Arts Project hosts two days of Jazz performances at the amphitheatre in Shepard Park. The eclectic lineup features nationally recognized artists in an intimate setting.

American Music Festival, Sept. 23 & 24 — The American Music Festival was the first event held at the Charles R. Wood Festival Commons back in 2014. It has grown larger with each edition. Back-to-back live performances of rock, jam and Americana. Past performers include Blue Oyster Cult and Sawyer Fredericks.

Aug. 15, 2017 Update: The 2017 American Music Festival is canceled. Organizers plan to return with the Festival in 2018.

Family Fun Festival, Sept. 22, 23 & 24  — Another Lake George Steamboat Company bicentennial event. The Family Fun Festival will be held at the Duece Moose Grill (across from the docks on Beach Road.) The festival features live music, a magic show, face painting, bounce houses and an inflated obstacle course.

October

Oktoberfest, Oct. 6, 7 & 8 — Traffic on Canada Street is diverted to make room for a beer garden in the middle of the road. Oktoberfest features live music, Bavarian food, beer, games, rides and merchandise vendors.
