William Shatner to boldly go to Ticonderoga

Actor William Shatner will be taking up his position on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise May 4 – 5, 2018 at the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour in Ticonderoga. James Cawley, whose meticulous reproductions of the Star Trek Original Series sets attract Trekkies to Ticonderoga for tours of the Enterprise, announced yesterday that Shatner will be the star of William Shatner Weekend.

A variety of ticket types are now available for the event. For the ultimate fan, the $860 VIP Ambassador Platinum Ticket includes a guided set tour, Journey to Babel Meet and Greet, admission to Live on Stage with William Shatner, photo op and autograph. At the lower end is the $85 Red Shirt Ticket, which includes a set tour and opportunity to see Captain Kirk (before you join a landing party from which you most likely will not return.) A la carte options are also available. Shatner will be on stage live for a Q&A session Saturday at 5 p.m.

Shatner played Captain James T. Kirk, The steady Captain of the starship Enterprise, in the original Star Trek series. Although the series only ran for three seasons, 1966 to 1969, it has developed a large cult following and Shatner is most often identified with this role.

The Star Trek Original Series sets in Ticonderoga were built by Crawley with the help of skilled volunteers over a 15-year period. They worked from blueprints, frame captures and stills to faithfully reproduce the original Desilu Studios sets. The organization offers regular set tours and hosts the Trekonderoga Convention each August.

The Star Trek Original Series Set Tour is located at 112 Montcalm Street, Ticonderoga, New York. Tickets for the William Shatner Weekend may be purchased online at the Set Tour website.
