The Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers’ Market will be holding its 12th Annual Apple Festival on Friday, Sept. 12, 3 – 6 p.m. at the Warrensburg Recreation Field Pavilion on Library Avenue in Warrensburg. The festival, sponsored by Warrensburgh Beautification, Inc., will bring a variety of organically grown apples, sweet and hard ciders and cider donuts to the town Recreation Field for a celebration of the fall harvest.
Shoppers will be offered a free sampling plate of apple-based recipes and can pick up recipes and growing information from CCE Master Gardeners. Local farms, bakers and craft-beverage producers will be selling their products. Artists and crafters, including jewelry makers, woodworkers, potters, quilters/sewists, and metal workers, will be selling their creations.
Richard’s Library Director, Shelby Burkhardt, is offering apple-themed hands-on or take-and-make crafts and face painting for children. Children may also decorate pumpkins that have been donated by Bull Hill Farm. The children’s activities are free.
NY State of Health, NYS Department of Public Service, Comfort Food Community and Warrensburg Central School PTSA are providing program information and giveaways.
The Apple Festival will have live music provided by George Parrott, free coffee and an opportunity to win $20 in Farmers’ Market Bucks, which can be spent with the market vendors.
