Ten years ago, Maggie and Giovanni Canepa brought their family’s tradition of good food and Italian hospitality from Sicily to Main Street Warrensburg as The Pizza Shop. This spring, they completed renovations to the face of their building, added new dining room furniture, and took on a new name — Canepa’s Pizza Shop. They celebrated their milestone anniversary and upgrades Friday afternoon with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“Thank you to the community for their support over the last 10 years, we’re so grateful for all the love,” said Maggie Canepa, “… and thank you to our amazing staff … we wouldn’t be here without you guys. We are known for our pizza, but we’re also really known for how great our staff is.”
A new initiative has Canepa’s collaborating with Oscar’s Smokehouse to add a little more gourmet-style toppings to their pies, along with the traditional pepperoni and sausage pizzas, Maggie says. In addition to their thin-crust New York-style pizza, the menu includes subs and wraps, calzone, stromboli, and desserts including cannoli and tiramisu.
Canepa’s consistently wins voter choice Best of the Region awards from the Glens Falls Post-Star and was named Business of the Year by the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce in 2018.
Canepa’s is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays, noon to 8 p.m. They offer dine-in, pick-up and delivery options. Find Canepa’s at 3918 Main Street, Warrensburg, NY, phone (518)623-3070.
