Registration for the Lake George Land Conservancy’s 13th Annual Hike-A-Thon has closed; however, the Conservancy is inviting the community to join them for the After Party, which will be held on Saturday, July 5, 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the Lake George Festival Commons in Wood Park. Entry to the park and activities are free.
The After Party will feature live music by the Stony Creek Band, who will take the stage at 12:30 p.m. Attendees can enjoy complimentary beer and soft drinks, while supplies last, courtesy of the Adirondack Pub and Brewery. The Rotary Club of Glens Falls and Jenny Jo’s Smoothie Bar will be selling refreshments.
Hike-A-Thon After Party activities will include lawn games, crafts and activities for children in the Kids’ Tent and door prizes. Vendors will be offering merchandise for sale, including Adirondack Winery/Extreme Heights Cidery and Love is on Lake George. Guests may also purchase Lake George Land Conservancy hats and other merchandise at the party.
Local government and not-for-profit organizations will set up information booths, some with giveaways and demonstrations, including Cornell Cooperative Extension/4H, CDPHP, Lake Champlain Basin Program, Warren County Health Services and Warrens County Soil and Water Conservation District.
Metered parking is available on surrounding streets and in public parking lots.
The Lake George Land Conservancy is a nonprofit land trust that works with landowners to protect the water quality of Lake George by protecting the lake’s watershed lands. The annual Hike-A-Thon is part of the Conservancy’s public outreach efforts.
