Pumpkin Chunkin’ and Medieval fun return to Adirondack Pub & Brewery

Dancing witches, Medieval battle demonstrations, a Viking encampment, fairy story tellers, magic wand making, craft vendors, live music, food, drink, and flying pumpkins will fill the Adirondack Pub & Brewery’s event grounds, 33 Canada Street, Lake George, on Saturday, November 8, noon to 4 p.m.

This is the eighth year for the event, which began as a fun way for people to dispose of their rotting Halloween Jack-o’-Lanterns. The Lake George Pumpkin Chunkin’ has grown into a lively Medieval festival. The event is free to attend, with free parking available in the adjacent High Peaks Distillery parking lot.

“Where else can you make your own magic wand, visit a Viking Village, watch a medieval battle, try a magic potion, shop unique vendors, and enjoy an afternoon of free live entertainment — plus give your Halloween pumpkins a great send off?” Says Adirondack Pub and Brewery owner John Carr in a press release.

The Pumpkin Chunkin’ festivities include carnival rides, games, a giant slide, and a bounce house for children. In addition to the pumpkin trebuchets, there will be apple slingshots, axe throwing, archery, and a Grand Finale pumpkin drop. Guests are encouraged to bring their Halloween pumpkins to include in the Big Pumpkin Drop. The Potions Bar will be serving handcrafted cocktails with non-alcoholic choices for the kids.
