Warrensburgh Farmers’ Market to hold 1st Annual Tomato Festival

The Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers’ Market will celebrate everything tomato at its 1st Annual Tomato Festival on Friday, Aug. 22, 3-6 p.m. The festival will be held at the Warrensburg Recreation Field Pavilion on Library Avenue. The venue has ample free parking and restrooms.

The Tomato Festival will feature a wide variety of fresh tomatoes from local farms and food products from local producers. Shoppers will have the opportunity to sample tomatoes and tomato recipes. Warren County CCE Master Gardeners will be on hand offering growing information and recipe books with healthy ways to prepare tomatoes and other seasonal produce.

The festival will include arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities, and giveaways.

This is the newest addition to the market’s series of festivals that run throughout the market season. Earlier this summer, the market held festivals centered on rhubarb, strawberries, and blueberries. An Apple Festival is scheduled for September 12, and the market closes its season with a Garlic Festival on October 10.

The Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers’ Market is sponsored by Warrensburgh Beautification, Inc. For more information, contact Market Manager Teresa Whalen at (518)466-5497.
