2018 Adirondack Nationals car show rolls into town

In 1988, Albany Rods & Kustoms car club held its first Adirondack Nationals car show with 268 vehicles. Three decades later, more than 1,500 classic and antique cars are on their way to Lake George for the 30th Annual Adirondack Nationals Car Show. The show is headquartered at the Fort William Henry Hotel Sept. 6 through Sept. 9. General admission is $15 for the entire weekend. Children 12 and younger are admitted free.

The 2018 celebrity guests are Joe and Amanda Martin of the Velocity series Iron Resurrection. Fans may meet them at Towers Hall (the Fort William Henry Hotel carriage house) Sept. 7 and 8, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Custom merchandise will be available for purchase.

This is not a static car show. Friday and Saturday, 7 – 10 p.m., registered cars will parade up and down Canada Street through Lake George Village. The popular Night Cruise sees car enthusiasts lining the road to cheer on hot rods, customs, muscle cars and revered classics. The street will be closed to regular traffic.Village officials recommend that spectators arrive in town early to secure parking before the night cruise begins.
