The 2026 World’s Largest Garage Sale kicks off in Warrensburg this Friday, Oct. 2, and runs through Sunday, Oct. 4. The popular event, now nearing its 50th anniversary, combines flea market vendors and food trucks with private residential yard sales and church bazars.
Along Main Street, from the bridge at the southern entrance to Warrensburg to the northern end of town, the sidewalks and parking lots take on a festival atmosphere with vendors selling everything from rare antiques to work gloves and socks. Sausage and peppers sizzle on flat-top grills and the air smells of caramel corn and fried dough.
Throughout the neighborhoods flanking either side of Main Street, bargain hunters will find traditional residential yard sales. Most vendors and homeowners conduct their sales between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., although many will start earlier in the morning and stay open later. Note that many sellers are cash-only. Be sure to bring a tote bag or backpack to carry away your purchases.

The Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce offers free parking at the Warren County Fairgrounds at 346 Schroon River Road. The Fairgrounds may be reached from I87 Exit 23 without the need to drive through the heavy traffic coming into town. On Saturday and Sunday, the Chamber is operating a free shuttle bus, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., that will carry shoppers from the Fairgrounds to the center of activity on Main Street.
Several organizations and businesses will be offering paid parking opportunities in town. The Warrensburg Volunteer Fire Company on Elm Street also offers overnight RV parking for a fee (no hookups).
