Good Friday, the day Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus, is April 19 this year. On this day, members of several Lake George churches will walk the Way of the Cross through the Village. This devotion has been a tradition since Christianity was legalized in the 4th Century and the final path of Jesus is recreated around the world on the Friday before Easter.
The Lake George walk begins at noon at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Mohican Street and travels to St. James Episcopal and Caldwell Presbyterian churches on Montcalm Street.
Easter Sunday, April 21, local churches will hold a non-denominational sunrise service in Shepard Park. The service begins at 6:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
