For the past 15 years, area restaurants have collaborated with the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB to showcase the region’s culinary talent with a biannual Restaurant Week promotion. Changes to the foodservice industry, brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, have called for a new way to feature Lake George restaurants. The Chamber has announced a reimaging of Lake George Restaurant Week 2020. The foodie celebration will now be the Fall Lake George Region Restaurant Appreciation Weeks, which will run Sept. 13 through Sept. 20, 2020. The event includes restaurants from Glens Falls, Queensbury and Lake George.
“Amid current conditions and with feedback from our member restaurants,” says Chamber Executive Director Gina Mintzer, “we wanted to reimagine this promotion into a creative event that would have a virtual component and encourage people to celebrate the people and ingenuity in the local restaurant industry.” This fall, participating restaurants will feature apple-themed beverages, appetizers, entrees and desserts during the first week of the promotion. For the second week, food and beverages will have a pumpkin theme.
During Restaurant Appreciation Weeks, Diners are encouraged to take pictures of their food, beverages or gift card purchases at participating restaurants and posting them to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #DineLGR. Entrants in the social media contest will be eligible to win a $25 gift card from a participating restaurant.
The Chamber also plans online events to highlight the work of restaurant staff whose jobs became infinitely more difficult during the national health emergency. The virtual Restaurant Appreciation Weeks 2020 may also include cooking and mixology demonstrations by Chamber members.

- The View at Dunham’s Bay Resort
