New Lake George restaurant — gaslight. — celebrates Grand Opening

“We want to put the emphasis on great food, great service — you know — good times,” says Executive Chef Ray Bohmer describing what he and restaurateur Frank Mineo envision for gaslight. (branded with a lowercase g and a period), Lake George Village’s newest eatery. The restaurant overlooks the bustle of Canada Street from its location just 400 feet south of the Beach Road/Canada Street intersection. The Mediterranean bistro-style menu features Italian, Greek, and Bohmer’s specialty, French cuisine.

The gaslight. building has been in Mineo’s family, along with DJ’s next door, since the early 1960s when Mineo’s great grandfather Danny Jordan (the DJ of DJ’s) moved up from Brooklyn and purchased the property. Renovations included raising the front deck to offer outdoor dining with a view of the village and glimpses of Lake George. Mineo says they are still adding features and are considering a wine bar on the patio.

The new restaurant boasts a 3,800-pound wood-fired Forno Piombo pizza oven, which may be viewed from the dining room. The bar serves drinks from a craft cocktail menu, and Mineo says the craft beer menu will be rotated to feature the newest, most popular beers.

gaslight. will be open year-round, and available for holiday gatherings. Mineo seeks to make gaslight. a destination location. The site has a feature rare in the tight real estate of Lake George Village, plentiful parking with 60 parking spaces on the South side of the restaurant. Visit the gaslight. Facebook page for hours and contact information.
