Registration for the Lake George Land Conservancy’s 14th Annual Hike-A-Thon opens Monday, March 2, at noon. The Hike-A-Thon is a one-day event held each year on July 5. It offers 25 different guided hikes ranging from fully accessible to very challenging. The Conservancy also offers a virtual option.
There is no charge to join the Hike-A-Thon; however, donations are appreciated. Registration includes a 2026 Hike-A-Thon T-shirt and goody bag. This year’s T-shirt is a bright teal with contrasting dark teal and off-white print designed by Paul Connally of Connally Creative.
Hikes include a drive-up to Prospect Mountain, two canoe/kayak paddles, a stand-up paddleboard paddle, and a Wooden Boat Parade led by Love is on Lake George. Traditional hikes range in difficulty from easy, with options suitable for young children, to vigorous climbs.
Those registering for the virtual option will hike on their own at a place of their choosing. Virtual hikers may pick up their T-shirts and goody bags at the Lake George Land Conservancy office in Bolton Landing between June 16 and July 3. Participants in guided hikes will pick up their swag at their site on the day of the hike.
2026 Hike-A-Thon Sites
In the past, popular sites filled quickly, often within hours once registration opened. The Conservancy recommends that hikers carefully research each site to ensure it is appropriate for all members of your party. You may register up to six hikers per registration form. Register online at https://lakegeorgehikeathon.org/register/
Following the hike, participants and community members are invited to an after-party at the Bolton Community Center, 56 Edgecomb Pond Road, Bolton Landing. The party includes free beer and soda, donated by Adirondack Pub and Brewery, lawn games, a kids’ tent with crafts and activities, and food trucks with refreshments for purchase.
