Holiday Train 2023 to roll through region Thanksgiving weekend

The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train will be making stops in Upstate New York on Friday, Nov. 24, and Saturday, Nov. 25. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Holiday Trains, which have traveled through Canada and the U.S. making stops along the way to entertain crowds with live music and collect food and cash donations for local food pantries.

“We are proud to support local food banks as we fight food insecurity by collecting food and raising money and awareness,” says CPKC President and CEO Keith Creel. “I am grateful to all the railroaders and community members who have supported the Holiday Train over the past quarter century and made it such a success.”

The multi-car train will be decorated with thousands of holiday lights with an open box car serving as a stage for live performances at each stop. The performers virgina to vegas and Trudy will provide entertainment at the Holiday Train 2023 New York Capital Region/Adirondack Area stops. The events are free. CPKC is asking attendees to make a heart-healthy food or a monetary donation. Since the Holiday Train program launched in 1999, it has collected more than five million pounds of food and more than $22.5 million for local food banks.

  1. Why can’t they bring it back in are upstate NY in Binghamton NY they had it before then it stopped doing it. It would be awesome if y’all bring it back to Binghamton NY

    • This is not the entire route in this story. The train didn’t run during COVID, maybe that’s why you think it’s bypassing Binghamton. Google the name of the train to get the complete route.

    • It is our understanding that CPKC coordinates with local food banks at each stop. We suggest you contact CPKC for more information.
