Lake George Fall 2018 Restaurant Week: 15 menus, 3 courses, 1 price

Sweet potato and bourbon bisque, parmesan encrusted tilapia, peach trifle — it must be Restaurant Week! The fall Lake George Restaurant Week begins Sunday, Sept. 9 and runs through Saturday, Sept. 15. For one week, 15 area eateries are offering three-course meals for $20.18. This year’s lineup includes the Village’s newest Asian fusion restaurant, China Town, and the historic Sans Souci on Cleverdale, which reopened this spring under new ownership.

Participating restaurants run the gamut from barbecue to haute cuisine. Diners may select an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert from special Restaurant Week menus. The fixed price of $20.18 does not include beverages, gratuity and tax. Reservations are highly recommended. Note that a few restaurants are not participating the entire seven days.

Restaurant Week, which is held each spring and fall, is coordinated by the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB to highlight the variety of culinary experiences available in the Lake George area. This is the 12th year for the popular event. Diners may complete a survey at a participating restaurant for a chance to win a restaurant gift certificate.

According to Chamber Marketing Director Amanda May Metzger, “Of 520 survey responses from June Restaurant Week returned to us, 97 percent rated their experience ‘excellent’ or ‘good.’ A total of 52 percent of respondents said it was their first time at the restaurant, which shows participating restaurants are getting exposure to new customers. We found that 54 percent of those surveyed were local while 46 percent of the respondents were from the Capital Region or farther away.”
