The Village of Lake George’s 15th Annual Oktoberfest kicks off Friday, Oct. 9, and runs through Sunday, Oct. 11, with live music, Bavarian food, craft and merchandise vendors, carnival rides, games, and competitions. The stretch of Canada Street in front of Shepard Park between Montcalm and Amherst Streets will be closed to traffic to make room for the large canopy tent that houses a stage and biergarten. Admission is free.

Sunday, Oct. 11: 12-5 p.m.
Sixty vendors are participating in this year’s Oktoberfest, including Adirondack Axe axe throwing, Wax ‘n Wix Candle Making, Wittenberg Carvers with chainsaw-carved bears and more. Green Mountain Amusements will bring carnival rides, bounce houses, games and concession stands.
Under the tent, Adirondack Pub & Brewery will serve Wiener Schnitzel, smoked giant turkey legs, bratwurst and other Bavarian favorites. From the beer wagon, they will offer their craft beers, hard lemonade and cider, along with a selection of wines from Adirondack Winery. All food and beer are cash only. ATMs will be on site.

There will be free pumpkin painting for children on Friday, 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, 12-5 p.m. under the tent. Festival attendees are invited to sign up for stein hoisting and keg tossing competitions on Saturday between noon and 2 p.m., with competitions beginning at 2 p.m. in Shepard Park. Locate sign-up sheets at the Adirondack Pub & Brewery beer trailer.
This is a kid-friendly event. Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome. Free parking is available in the High Peaks Distillery/Biscotti Brothers lot at 1 Canada Street (approximately ½ mile south of the event). Metered parking is available on surrounding streets and in public parking lots for $2 an hour.
