The state ban on in-house dining at restaurants and bars is a necessary action to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, but restaurant meals are still available from local eateries. The Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce has released a list of businesses offering take-out menus. To encourage people to support these businesses, the Chamber is launching a social media contest. These are the details from a March 18 press release:
We know our restaurants and bars are hurting. Let’s do our part to both slow the spread of COVID-19 AND help our business community and their employees weather this difficult time. We are launching a social media contest! We will posting about this soon on our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. You’re the first to know! This applies to posts on those THREE platforms. If you post on multiple — you get extra entries!
Here’s how you can participate:
- Share a post of your takeout or delivery experience, whether that means food pics, drink pics, photos/videos of getting the takeout or of you enjoying it. — OR — Share a picture of a gift card or screenshot of e-gift you purchase.
- Tag the Chamber AND the restaurant in your post
- Use #TastyTakeout
Every post is an entry to win free tickets to the Painted Pony Championship Rodeo AND their delicious Texas-style BBQ Buffet this summer. (Big THANKS to Painted Pony for donating those tickets to us in the beginning of the year!)

Please be mindful, if there is a wait when you pickup, do not congregate inside the restaurant as that defeats the purpose of limiting the restaurants and bars to takeout. We want this to be over as quickly as possible, and we must all work together to make that happen.
