LGFD Ladies Auxiliary Basket fundraiser to be held at new location

10/24/2019 Update:

Beth Brundage reports that all admission tickets have been sold. The pre-sale scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26 has been cancelled.

The Lake George Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary Annual Basket Raffle & Dessert Show is moving to a more refined location for its 12th year — the banquet rooms at Holiday Inn. The new location, according to former Auxiliary president Beth Brundage, is “…thanks to the generosity of the Crocitto Family.” In the past, the annual fundraiser has been set up in the bays at the Lake George Firehouse with tables of gift baskets, desserts and attendees pushing up against fire-fighting equipment.

The 2019 Basket Raffle & Dessert sale will be held Sunday, Nov. 3. Doors open at 1 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes 25 raffle tickets which may be used to bid on more than 100 donated baskets and gift cards. Additional tickets may be purchased at the sale. A selection of desserts, coffee, tea and water are included. Admission is limited to 200 guests.

Admission tickets may be purchased in advance on Saturday, October 26 beginning at 10 a.m. until sold out at the Lake George Firehouse meeting room, which is accessed from the back entrance of the fire station on Hendrick Street. Admission tickets may be purchased with cash or checks only.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to buy tickets for these special raffles:

  • Lottery Board that includes a cash prize of $100 and $150 in scratch-off tickets
  • Southwest Airline passes, 4 passes that can be used individually or in combination for round- trip they are valued at $200 each for a total of $800

The Ladies Auxiliary assists families in need throughout the community. Last year’s basket sale allowed them to help 17 children and their families at Christmas and several senior citizens. The Auxiliary awarded two Lake George High School graduating seniors with scholarships, and they came to the aid of local families suffering loss due to illness and fires.

The Holiday Inn is located at 2223 Route 9 (Canada Street) in Lake George. The hotel’s T.R.’s Restaurant will be open with a cash bar and offering a light menu not included in the event.
