Where to find spectator parking for the Adirondack Nationals Car show

Village employee Scott Bauberger and Joanne Mamrosch of the Lake George Chamber of Commerce sell Preferred Parking stickers at the Lake George Visitors Center.

The Village of Lake George is humming with traffic this Friday, September 6, as the Adirondack Nationals car show rolls into town. Parked vehicles already line the Village streets, and the public parking lots are filling up quickly. There are some Adirondack Nationals parking options still open if you are planning to visit Lake George this weekend.

Some businesses are selling spaces in their parking lots. We spotted a $15/day sign for parking at the Tamarack Restaurant on the corner of Canada Street and Lake Avenue. The Beach Road Bait Shop next to the Holiday Inn on Canada Street usually has room for public parking as well. Also, check St. James Episcopal Church on Montcalm Street and Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Mohican Street for possible parking. They often sell spaces during special event weekends.

A homeowner on Helen Street is offering spaces at $10/day for Adirondack Nationals parking. The state parking lot at Lake George Beach (Million Dollar Beach) on Beach Road is open for the weekend. Cars will be allowed to enter the parking lot up until 9 p.m. The exit gates will remain open all night. Parking at the Lake George Beach is $10 and is easily accessed via Route 9L (East Shore Drive.)

Preferred Parking (PP) stickers allow visitors to prepay for several days of parking at metered spots throughout Lake George Village.

For those who wish to park on Village streets or in Village lots for an extended period, Preferred Parking Passes allow drivers to prepay rather than feed the parking meters. PP passes are available at a table in front of the Visitors Center on the corner of Beach Road and Canada Street. Passes for weekend parking are $100 for vehicles and $400 for trailers.

Note that Canada Street will be closed between 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday night for the car show Night Cruise. Traffic will be diverted to side streets.
