Dinosaurs, princesses, and superheroes took over the center of Lake George Village Sunday afternoon for the Lake George Youth Commission’s 50th Annual Halloween Party. The festivities began at the High School with arts and crafts, games, and pumpkin painting. A parade followed, led by the Lake George Volunteer Fire Department and the Lake George Drum Line, with street performers and costumed children with their families, and it headed to Shepard Park for Trunk-Or-Treating.
Local businesses and organizations lined each side of Canada Street with decorated vehicles and handed out Halloween treats to children who stopped by. The block party also included face painting, balloon art, and street performers.
Next to the park, the Lake George Historical Association held witch trials in the Old County Courthouse, condemning as witches those defendants who had “unnatural” knowledge, such as the number of letters in the alphabet or the chemical composition of water.
