The Empire State Capital Volkssporters Walking Club (ESCV) is hosting a multi-day event to celebrate the American Walking Club’s 50th Anniversary. The walking festival, titled “Walk the Story that Changed the World,” will focus on visiting Revolutionary War battle sites. The local community is invited to join with walking club members from 21 states for the events to be held May 16 – 20.
The Georgian Resort on Canada Street is hosting the festival. The cost to join a walking tour is $4. Participants may register online at the ESCV website or on-site at the start of each walk. The walking routes are both 5K and 10K, although participants may walk for as long as they feel comfortable.
“We are very excited to celebrate our 50th Anniversary in the Northeast Region of the United States,” says American Volkssport Association President and CEO Henry Rosales. “We hope the local community will join us to learn about our walking events, and every state in the country. The Empire State Capital Volkssporters have worked hard for months to create walks that showcase the best of the area and hopefully introduce new walkers to our club and our sport of walking. Acting on our health today paves the way for a brighter, healthier tomorrow.”
