Warrensburgh Farmers’ Market to hold Garlic Festival

The Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers’ Market is celebrating everything garlic at its 17th Annual Garlic Festival on Friday, Oct. 9, 3-6 p.m. The festival will be held at the Warrensburg Recreation Field Pavilion on Library Avenue.

Shoppers will find certified organic and certified naturally grown garlic varieties for planting and eating from Hope Valley Farm, Juniper Hill Farm, Nana’s Garlic Shack, Northeast Corner Herb Farm and Simply Garlic. Warren County Master Gardeners will be on hand with horticulture information and recipes.

The market is offering a free sampler plate of garlic recipes and free, freshly brewed coffee.

Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery will have a beverage tasting of their Pickled Roasted Garlic Martinis. Richards Library Director Shelby Burkhardt is leading children in a free seasonal craft workshop with garlic and Halloween themes.

Local farms, bakers, craft beverage producers, and Adirondack artisans will offer their goods for sale. Vendors include Adirondack Winery, Candy Mountain Maple, J. Gallup Farm, Grace Family Farm, and Saratoga Apple.

State agencies and not-for-profit organizations, including New York State of Health (The health insurance marketplace), New York State Department of Public Service, and Cancer Service Program of Warren, Washington, and Hamilton Counties, will provide program information and have giveaways. Festival attendees can have their blood pressure checked by representatives from the Glens Falls Hospital Emergency Department.

Live music will be provided by Solace – George Parrott & Bree. Shoppers will have the opportunity to win $20 in Farmers’ Market Bucks, which can be used with any market vendor.
