The Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers’ Market is holding its 2nd Annual Tomato Festival on Friday, Aug. 21, 3 – 6 p.m. at the Warrensburg Recreation Field Pavilion on Library Avenue. The festival will feature locally grown organic tomatoes, tomato recipes, sampler plates, and horticultural information provided by Warren County CCE Master Gardeners.
Local farms, craft beverage producers, bakers and artisans will be represented among the nearly two dozen vendors offering tomato-themed goods and other products.
Tomato Festival participating vendors include:
- Juniper Hill — locally grown produce, including ripe, freshly picked tomatoes for salads, BLTs, sauces and canning.
- Saratoga Apple — early season apples, cider and donuts
- Amazing Grazing & Bakery — tomato pies, sundried tomato sourdough breads, bagels, focaccia and a variety of sourdough pastas and Italian desserts
- J. Gallup Farm — sundried tomato-herb focaccia and biscuits, salsas, and a variety of quiches
- Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery is offering a Bloody Mary Cocktail Sampling.
- Guava Leaf Juice Bar & Wellness Club is featuring a Tomato Twist.
- Whitefield’s Farm — samples of sundried tomato and garlic chicken sausage
- Romina Giusta Gallagher — tomato bruschetta arancini with tomato bacon jam on the side and sweet cannoli arancini
- Trillium Farm— multi-color chicken and duck eggs
- Candy Mountain Maple —organic maple syrup
- The Pooch Pantry — healthy, homemade dog and cat treats
- For the Love of Rocks — handcrafted silver and gemstone jewelry
- Bradway Krafts — wooden planters, birdhouses and signs
- Kelmview Farm — floral bouquets and hand-forged wrought iron from Sarah and Ben Thomas.
- Ed Frulla, Teohoken Turning, will be sharing the secret of stabilized highly figured spalted maple used to make his handcrafted jewelry.
- Calico Corner — themed fabric crafts
- Spruceberry Pine Company — wood furniture, wood-burnt home decor, cutting boards and seasonal crochet items
- Loon Song Soaps & Sundries —”tomato leaf and coriander” handmade soap, rope baskets and woven products
- Aunt B’s Baubles — themed earrings and more
- J & J Wool and Wood will be spinning and selling traditional and art yarn, woven scarves and shawls, home décor, reclaimed wood items and more
- New Orient Boutique — a selection of crocheted items including tomato creatures
- Three Daughters Clay — seasonal, holiday and event-themed polymer clay gifts and jewelry
NY State of Health (the state health insurance marketplace), NYS Department of Public Service, Cancer Service Program of Warren, Washington and Hamilton Counties, BHSN Therapeutic Foster Care and the Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation will be on hand with information and giveaways.
The festival includes activities for children, live music performed by Mike Grazioso, free freshly brewed coffee, and a chance to win $20 in Farmers’ Market Bucks, which may be used with the market vendors.
