October in the Lake George Area brings brisk winds, falling leaves and plenty of Halloween fun. Here is a round-up of this year’s Lake George area Halloween activities. Some are fun and filled with candy for kids, and others are scarier events that are better suited for adults
Halloween 2026 Trunk or Treats
Jeeptoberfest Trunk or Treat

Sunday, Oct. 18, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Jeep owners are dressing up their vehicles and competing for Best-Dressed Jeep prizes at this trunk-or-treat presented by Nemer CJDR of Queensbury. This is a free community event with candy and giveaways for all. Rain or shine.

An inclusive Halloween celebration with trick-or-treating fun. Costumes encouraged. Food by Rollin’ in Gravy food truck.

Organizers suggest trick-or-treaters allow a half-hour to visit all the stops along the trunk-or-treat trail. Parking is free. When the main lot is full, parking attendants will direct visitors to an alternative lot.

This trunk-or-treat is presented by YELLE Music Productions, Jessica Rosario, and Letizia of Events to a T. Candy, music, prizes, vendors, and more in the East Field parking lot. Admission is free. A portion of vendor fees benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks.

Sunday, Oct. 25, 2 – 7 p.m.
Lake George Youth Commission Halloween 2026 Party with refreshments, games, crafts, and pumpkin painting, 2- 3 p.m. at the High School. Costume parade begins at 3 p.m. and will travel from the High School to Shepard Park. Trunk-or-treating, food trucks, and music in the park.

Fort William Henry MuseumFort William Henry is opening the Fort doors on select evenings through October for Fort Fright, “Where history, hauntings and horror collide.” Guests will journey through the dark passageways and rooms of the fort with a haunted experience centered around the real events of 1757, when the fort fell to attacking forces. This three-day event brings together nationally recognized spiritual practitioners for workshops, demonstrations and experiences. The weekend begins with a Friday evening party with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, mediumship demonstrations, a Halloween costume contest and a special Fort Fright experience in the nearby fort. Saturday offers workshops and demonstrations. Weekend packages include two nights of lodging and admission to programs. - Ghost tours
The Historical Association is conducting Ghost Tours at the Old County Courthouse with guides telling stories of unexplained happenings in the building that now serves as the Association’s home. Tours will be on Saturdays, Oct. 3 through Oct. 24, 7:30 p.m. and a later tour at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person. Purchase tickets online at the LGHA website. - Paranormal investigations
On Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31, 6-10 p.m., FD Paranormal, with guests, will visit the Old County Courthouse to explore the historic building and potentially find evidence of supernatural activities. Purchase a ticket to join the investigation.

Glens Falls Senior Center Paranormal Investigation

The Howeport Paranormal Group will investigate the stories and perhaps spirits in the historic Augustus Sherman House. Reservations are required. Call 518-793-2189 to save a spot. Participants must sign a waiver to join in the investigation. Tickets are $30. This special fundraiser benefits the Glens Falls Senior Center.
Bordeaux’s Haunted Trail

Enchanted Parks Great Escape Fright Fest and Boo Fest

The Great Escape offers two ways to enjoy Halloween fun. Boo Fest runs from noon through 5 p.m. and is designed for the younger crowd with a trick-or-treat trail, Monster Mash dance party, scavenger hunt, hay maze, arts and crafts and costume contest for ages 12 and younger.
At 5 p.m., things get scary for Fright Fest with Scare zones, haunted houses, and Halloween-themed live entertainment. Purchase tickets at the Great Escape/Enchanted Parks website.
