The Lake George Region Women for Women in Need, Inc. (WIN) will hold its 13th Annual Golf Tournament and auction Monday, June 27 at Cronin’s Golf Resort in Warrensburg. The format will be a four-person — men, women and mixed team — scramble with a shotgun start at 11:45 a.m. The tournament and auction proceeds will help fund WIN programs.
The Lake George Region for WIN, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3). Since 1986, the organization has been helping women and families in Warren, Washington, Saratoga, Essex and Albany counties. The women and men helped may be the sole support of the family, living alone, elderly, married or divorced. The main criteria is need.
WIN’s offers confidential help in multiple ways providing necessities such as clothing, food, financial assistance, fuel, oil and firewood. The newest WIN programs are hygiene bags for local school districts, chemo bags for Albany Med’s children’s cancer unit and blessing bags for the local homeless filled with necessities to make life more comfortable.
WIN does not have a paid staff. All work is done by volunteers, and the organization relies on donations to meet the needs of women and families in the region. The Annual Golf Tournament is one of WIN’s most successful fundraisers.
The cost per golfer is $100 for non-members and $75 for Cronin’s members, which includes golf carts, lunch and the awards dinner. Non-golfers may attend the dinner and auction beginning at 4 p.m. for $35. Reservations and payment are due by Thursday, June 24.
